The Roller Coaster Ride
I’m so tired of the speed of this world.
Sure, at first it seems exciting, even exhilarating—like a ride on a roller coaster, the kind that goes in circles. At first, you’re overwhelmed by all the new emotions. Every minute feels fun.
But if you stay on that roller coaster long enough, the speed becomes sickening. The excitement fades, and you grow tired of the blurriness of it all. All you want is to stand on solid ground, where things aren’t spinning at the speed of light.
Our world moves so fast, demanding so much from us. Every minute has to be filled with something. It doesn’t allow us to slow down, to relax, to simply be. We’re expected to either entertain ourselves or fill our time with activities that make life meaningful and exciting. It’s just so much—too much.
As a new author trying to promote my work and put my name out there, I’m learning the art of grabbing that fleeting second of people’s attention before this roller coaster takes them away.
It feels overwhelming—because you know you only have that moment, that split second—before they are swept away in another direction. It’s a constant chase for attention, especially on social media, just to keep people spinning on this endless ride.
That’s why Substack felt different to me. It seemed more like a merry-go-round—slower, steadier—compared to the crazy blur of regular social media platforms. So I decided to give it a shot and see what happens.
It’s a pleasure to be here, and I’d like to introduce myself.
My name is Victoria Veles, and I write books that not only tell exciting stories with complex characters, but also make you feel and think deeper.
My stories often explore themes of mental health, trauma, self-discovery, and the unseen worlds that shape our inner lives. They weave together magic, mystery, and emotion—inviting readers to look beneath the surface, to question what is real, and to reconnect with the parts of themselves they may have forgotten.
I believe that fiction can heal, that imagination can illuminate truth, and that even the darkest chapters can lead us toward light.
And if, for just a brief moment, I can hold your attention before life’s roller coaster sweeps you away—then perhaps, in that moment, we’ve already begun a journey together.

I am so glad that I have found you and I am looking forward to reading your book and your work love 🥰 your Aussie family friend John xx 😘
